PART-TIME PROGRAMS TEACHING TEAM
CAROL NISBET - SUPPORT TEACHER (MIGRATING MONARCHS)
Over the years, I have worked with children in Canada, Italy and in the United States. My background in the fine arts (dance, music, art) has enriched my work with children. Having grown up in multicultural Toronto and Montreal my outlook in life is diverse and spontaneous. I am a creative, nurturing and responsible caregiver, instructor and mentor to the children. I enjoy a full personal life and try to frequent the rich variety of art exhibitions, performances, and recitals offered by this great city! Guiding our children here at Little Inspirations through communication and creative playtime is a most rewarding experience for me!
AUTUMN NORMAN - TEACHER (DIVING DUCKLINGS / MIGRATING MONARCHS)
Hi, I am the Diving Ducklings teacher. I graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a B.A in Psychology, and that experience gave me a deeper understanding of how young children develop, think, and process through their experiences. That led me to obtain a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from National Louis University. As one of the founding teachers at Little Inspirations, I have always enjoyed watching children develop an understanding of their world through interacting with it on a daily basis. I have never thought of the classroom as just being indoors, so am very excited for the summer and am looking forward to watching children interact with their world through fun community outings, field trips, and outdoor adventures. In my spare time, I enjoy sketching, coloring, and watching TV, particularly Netflix.
LISA FRANCIS - TEACHER (ROCKIN' ROBINS DIRECTOR / TEACHER)
Hello everyone. My name is Lisa Francis and I have a Bachelor’s in Child Development and I am excited to say that I have two classes to go before completing my Master’s in Early child Development. I have over 10 years of experience with child care. I started my journey as a teacher’s assistant. This really taught me how to construct a classroom and create a fun learning environment. I have taught a variety of age groups which has allowed me to gain a sufficient amount of knowledge. My twin daughters really inspired me to become an educator. They have helped me understand the development of children. My personal vision as a teacher is to help students learn and develop but have fun while doing so. It is so important for students to enjoy what they are learning in the classroom. To help me de-stress, I love to read and write. This helps me bring a more positive mood within the classroom. I am thrilled to be an educator at Little Inspirations. I look forward to continuing to bring my positive and nurturing spirit to the team.
ANTOINETTE CHAMBERS - SUPPORT TEACHER (ROCKIN' ROBINS)
Hello! My name is Antoinette Chambers. I am currently getting my Associate’s degree in Child Development so I can attend the University of Illinois at Chicago and earn my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development. I was born and raised on the south side of Chicago. I am the youngest of three siblings. As a young child, I wanted to become a nurse like all the other women in my life, but I’ve always wanted to help children develop who they are by teaching them. During my first year of school, I took prerequisite classes because i was still unsure of what I really wanted to do in life. Then one day, I volunteered at my cousin’s school, and when I say I loved it, I LOVED IT! I loved how good the teachers were with the children, how happy and joyful the students were, and how much they loved their teachers. So I went home that day and talked to my father, and he asked me two questions that helped me make my decision. He asked “So where do you see yourself working in 10 years? And can you see yourself doing the same thing for the rest of your life?” Since that day I’ve been working hard every day in school to work towards my ultimate goal of getting a master’s degree in child development. I am so happy to have the opportunity to work with each and every child I come in contact with. I would like to thank everyone whose child I have cared for and will care for, for giving me the opportunity to help your child grow and become a wonderful person. Thank you for give me chance to teach your child.
